Giving
The Foundation
Goldfarb School of Nursing partners with The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital to enrich the student experience and award scholarships to ensure the future success of the school’s faculty and students. Every gift for nursing education is a precious investment in the next generation of nurses. When you support Goldfarb scholarships, you are helping prepare exceptional nurses to meet the complex health care needs of patients for many years to come.
Your Support is Critical
The unprecedented growth in enrollment in all programs at Goldfarb means that scholarship dollars are more in-demand and more important than ever to the success of our students.
Your gift to support scholarships ensures that Goldfarb will continue its legacy of cultivating dedicated, compassionate nurses who are prepared to give the best possible care to patients and their families. Because of donor generosity, more nursing students can pursue their passion for nursing, and Goldfarb can offer an excellent education in leading-edge facilities with outstanding faculty.
Thanks to generous donations, over 70 scholarships have been awarded each year.
Where You Can Donate
If you would like to recognize the impact of great nursing care on our families and friends and ease the financial challenges for prospective students, please make a gift to Goldfarb School of Nursing Scholarships at the foundation today.
Thank you for your devotion to advancing medicine by supporting excellence in nursing education.
The Compassion Fund
The Emergency Compassion Fund was established by The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital [external link] in 2017 to help Goldfarb students who encounter unexpected emergencies or crises situations that would affect their ability to complete their education.
The fund was created to honor former nurse and Washington University School of Nursing graduate Patricia Girard Pape and her husband, James Pape. It was initiated by their children as a tribute to their parent’s legacy of caring for others. The Pape’s daughter, Debbie Fraser, reached out because she felt her parents would have wanted to help nursing students who are struggling to attend school due to unexpected life events.
Emergency support granted from the fund ranges in amount. It may be used for everything from food and clothing to rent or utilities if someone is suddenly facing a serious financial crisis.
