EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Goldfarb’s Controlled Reentry Plan
Tuesday, January 4, 2022
Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
As we start the new year, our nimbleness and resilience are being tested again with the surge of the new Omicron variant. As a result, and until further notice, Goldfarb will immediately reinstate controlled reentry and employ strict safety practices by decreasing the number of people allowed inside the building.
This means that we are moving classes online. However, students will come to campus for their scheduled skill labs and simulations.
Online classes will be offered through January 2022. We will assess the status of the current surge every week and determine when it is safe to return to campus for in-person instruction.
Your diligence and adherence to the additional reentry guidance below will help Goldfarb ensure the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff while maintaining the highest-quality instruction in our all coursework and preparation:
Students should present to campus no more than 10 minutes before their scheduled labs or simulations and leave campus promptly after the lab or the simulation.
“Hot spots” will be available for students who do not have internet access.
Laptops will be available for faculty if needed.
Faculty will post office hours on their Canvas course site per usual practice.
Student resources such as SAAC, Academic Advising, Remediation, peer tutors, and peer leader will be available virtually by appointment.
All students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to receive the COVID-19 booster shot.
As a reminder, Goldfarb and BJC require you to wear masks for entry into the College and all BJC facilities. You also must continue to complete the online pre-screening questionnaire at https://covid19.bjc.org/screening.
We cannot reinforce the importance of following these guidelines to minimize the risks of being exposed to the COVID-19 virus and subsequent variants. As circumstances change, Goldfarb will continue monitoring the situation and adjusting accordingly.
We wish you a safe, productive, engaging and knowledge-filled term.
Kind Regards,
– Mayola Rowser, PhD, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, PMHNP, Jack Taylor, Dean and Professor
