Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing’s Dettra Fields, senior human resource specialist, has recently graduated from the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative 2018-19 Fellows Program.
“The fellows program was a transformation journey for my personal and professional growth and development," said Dettra. "The program inspired me to improve and empower myself by discovering where my full potential lies.”
The St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative, which is a part of the St. Louis Regional Chamber, assists area companies in building successful diversity and inclusion programs. The Fellows Program has curriculum designed to address the interests and challenges of professionals of color as they work to develop and advance their careers.
Fields, who is an alumna of Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, has been with Goldfarb for four years and Barnes-Jewish Hospital over 19 years.
“Diversity and inclusion is important to not only Goldfarb but other organizations as well. It helps create a culture where employees can feel accepted, valued and different views, experiences and thought processes are heard and used for the betterment of the organization,” said Fields.
