Nancy Ridenour, PhD, APRN, BC, FAAN, has been named the next dean of Goldfarb School of Nursing and president of Barnes-Jewish College. She is set to join the College on September 1, 2017. Nancy Ridenour, PhD, APRN, BC, FAAN, has been named the next dean of Goldfarb School of Nursing and president of Barnes-Jewish College. She is set to join the College on September 1, 2017.

Ridenour joins the College from the University of New Mexico College of Nursing, where she has served as the dean and professor since 2008. She has also held senior leadership roles at other academic institutions including Illinois State University College of Nursing in Normal, IL and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing in Lubbock, TX. In addition to leadership and teaching positions, she also has many years of clinical practice appointment experience from academic and health care institutions.

In her role as dean of Goldfarb School of Nursing and president of Barnes-Jewish College, Ridenour will focus on further enhancing the College’s commitment to fostering the best in faculty, staff and students, research, technology, curriculum and service while enabling the College to perpetuate a legacy of helping exceptional people become exceptional nurses. This will include preparing a highly capable and compassionate health care workforce in patient care delivery, multi-faceted leadership, research and scientific discovery to better the lives of the individuals, families and communities’ nurses serve.

Ridenour holds a doctor of philosophy degree in human development and family studies from the Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, along with a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree from the College of Nursing, University of Colorado in Denver, CO.
