Sarah Farabi, PhD, RN, assistant professor at Goldfarb, worked with a team of researchers as a post-doctoral fellow in 2018 and found undiagnosed, mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common in late pregnancy among women who are obese. The study also found that poor sleep and OSA might contribute to increased glycemic profiles and insulin resistance.
