From June 7 to 16, 2018, Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing alumni, family, friends, faculty and staff traveled to Alaska from Seattle, touring the Alaska Inside Passage, including Juneau, Skagway, Tracy Arm fjord and glacier and Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Travel Adventures program, part of the Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association, is led by June Cowell-Oates, EdD, LPC, LCSW, CEAP, director of alumni affairs and program officer of student affairs and diversity at Goldfarb School of Nursing. “We developed Travel Adventures to offer group-travel experiences that engage with our large network of nursing alumni and friends of the college,” said Cowell-Oates. “Connecting with our graduates is a key focus of the Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association, and traveling to beautiful destinations together creates meaningful experiences that anchor relationships with one another.”
During the trip, alumni and others enjoyed each other’s company while getting ‘up close and personal’ with some of Alaska’s most famous and gorgeous scenery.
The next Travel Adventures trip will visit Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, May 15 to 18, 2019. The alumni association hopes even more alumni, family, friends and students will become part of the adventure.
