How to Apply

Institutional scholarships are made possible through generous donations given to The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  

Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College educates future nurses who are driven to make a difference in the lives of others. The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital supports this mission by awarding scholarships to students at Goldfarb each year.

The awarding of scholarship funds is not guaranteed and based on funding availability. 

For incoming students -To be considered eligible for any institutional scholarship, the scholarship application must be completed, all final transcripts must be received by the Admissions Office and tuition deposit paid, and a 2024-2025 FAFSA must be submitted and have a completed financial aid file. If any of these requirements are not received the student is considered ineligible for institutional scholarships. 

For current students - The 2024-2025 FAFSA is required for scholarship consideration and a completed financial aid file.

Upon submission of your scholarship application, Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes Jewish College will evaluate your eligibility and notify you if you are eligible for a Scholarship. Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress while attending the College. The Institutional Scholarship Program offered by Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College is subject to change. International Students are not eligible for Institutional Scholarships.

The Institutional Scholarship application for the Fall ’24 term has closed. The application for the Spring ’25 term will open later this Fall.”

Goldfarb Legacy Scholarship

This award is granted to returning alumni of Goldfarb School of Nursing and its legacy schools. The scholarship amount is $7,000 divided by the terms in the student's program.

Eligibility for this scholarship is reviewed as a result of the submitted overall/general Institutional Scholarship Application, available each term.

Empowering Future Nurses

This award is granted to incoming graduate students who have an exceptional demonstrated need as determined by the completion of a FAFSA. The amount awarded is $7,000 divided by the terms in the student's program.

Eligibility for this scholarship is reviewed as a result of the submitted overall/general Institutional Scholarship Application, available each term.

Denise Murphy Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is an investment in the professional journey of someone who aims to advance into a nursing leadership position. It will provide financial assistance and mentorship opportunities to a student pursuing graduate degree work at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing. Applicants must be pursuing their next level degree at GSON (MSN, DNP, or PhD). Applicant must currently be employed by BJC Health System  in a nursing role for at least one year. Applicant must demonstrate leadership potential and must demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is offered once per year. The amount awarded is $5,000 divided by the terms in the student's program. Application can be found here.
