Goldfarb honors Distinguished Alumni

The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association awarded Mildred ‘Milli’ (Moore) Yium, RN, MS, (1962), a nurse and clinical psychologist in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area, and Colleen Gilmore, RN, MSN, ANP-BC (1985 and 2009), a BJC Hospice nurse practitioner, the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award. The Barnes-Jewish College Alumni Association has awarded alumni from Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing, and their legacy schools, the prestigious honor of the Distinguished Alumni Award since 1985.

Supporting Veteran Students

An organization called VaST – Veterans and Supporters Together – offers veterans attending Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing opportunities for camaraderie, community service and more. The number of students attending Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing that receives veteran-affairs benefits increased to 26 students in the fall 2018 term, compared with 20 in 2017. Because the college values the experience these students bring to the classroom and appreciates their willingness to serve, it works to ensure they receive the support needed to achieve success.

During the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Annual Congress, held in Boston on Sept. 21-25, 2018, Goldfarb student Bradley Uding was awarded the prestigious American Association of Nurse Anesthetist’s 2018 Student Excellence Award. Two nurse anesthesia students from Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing were acknowledged for their leadership skills and depth of knowledge at the 2018 American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Nurse Anesthesia Annual Congress.
