Judy Frain, PhD, RN, associate professor at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing, to led HIV-related study with the 2017 Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI)/National Gerontological Nursing Association research grant. The sole recipient of the 2017 Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI)/National Gerontological Nursing Association research grant is a study led by nurse scientist Judy Frain, PhD, RN.

After 44 years of teaching nursing students, Jack Pennington, PhD retires. Beginning his professional career as a medical technologist, Jack Pennington, PhD, never imagining that he would one day teach nursing students. But serendipity, as Pennington sees it, changed his path.
In 1973, almost on a whim, he applied for and accepted a position as an adjunct faculty member at St. Louis Community College. Once in the classroom, Pennington developed a love for teaching and allowed it to guide the remainder of his career.

Human trafficking, the illegal trading of human beings for commercial sexual exploitation, forced labor and organ trade, is one of the fastest-growing criminal enterprises worldwide. Nurses and other health care providers are often the first and/or only professionals able to interact with trafficking victims.
